A tiny interview with the artist Myriam Gämperli
Myri and Sibylle have known each other for over two decades. Back then, it was mostly skateboarding.
Now the two have met at the Zurich studio Gemeinsamer Raum and at Myri's summer studio in St. Gallen to chat a bit about life today.

How would you describe your personality in three words?

Versatile, loyal, homely

City or country?

Big city and no man's land, I need and love both.

Your favorite motto?

'Life is a fruit, eat it!' Unfortunately, the original author is unknown to me.

What do many people underestimate about your job?

Administrative solo effort.

How would you describe your work in three words?

Natural/artificial, graphic, mischievous.

What does enjoyment mean to you?

Pleasure, pleasure, joy. I like the simple, practical, profound absurdities of everyday life; I see beauty in them, and I enjoy them.

What more of what do we need in this world?

Openness.

Are you a heart or head person? And how does that show?

I operate according to the pleasure principle. I'm driven by what moves me, and I give priority to that whenever possible.

What can you not live without?

Ideas, joy, friends, forest and caresses.

Where and when are you most creative?

I am usually most creative early in the morning or before I go to sleep, when my brain is not yet fully awake or is already half asleep,... and with people who are brainstorming with me.

What do you wish for the next five years?

First we'll see what the weather will be like tomorrow, otherwise the usual good things for this world.

How do you like to enjoy your granola?

As a snack in between meals. ☺︎
