WHAT DOES THE JUNG BAKER FAMILY EAT FOR BREAKFAST?

After what felt like five minutes at the office desk upstairs at John Baker Stadelhofen, Jens and I agreed: I could use his bakery for my one-woman start-up. That was a real win, because I could enjoy the residual heat from the oven for roasting and sell my first granola packets at the Zurich pole position! After more than four enriching years, my now-grown 'TINY TEAM' and I reluctantly packed up our bowls a year ago to make a little more space for ourselves – but our collaboration has remained. Thanks to Jens (aka Jimmy) for the constant mentoring and the inspiration to stay true to his values!
Sibylle: Cynthia and Jens, how are you connected to the TINY FACTORY?
Jens: Sibylle approached me (I founded John Baker in 2013) and baked her crispy granola in our bakery for a few years. I was immediately impressed by the quality of her granola.
What are your morning rituals?
Jens: On a workday, I get up early and go to the bakery. But when I get up with the family, breakfast is very important. It alternates wildly between ganola, jam bread, and porridge. Sweet is the main thing ;-). As soon as everyone has something to eat, I make myself a coffee. Cynthia: Since we had children, I no longer need an alarm clock. I don't have a morning ritual... I'm happy when I'm woken up gently and not at dawn, and my mood is reasonably good as a result. When I'm alone with the children in the morning (Jens always leaves the house early), we have breakfast together. Having time together to start the day is important to me, before they head off to daycare and I devote myself to my studies, or we spend the day together.

Which type of TINY FACTORY GRANOLA do you enjoy the most and how do you prepare it?
Jens: I'm a purist, so I like the Classic. I add fresh fruit seasonally, depending on what's available at the local organic store. Cynthia: My kids and I love the Sour Cherry, definitely with the natural organic yogurt from Migros; it's so creamy and balanced in flavor. In summer, strawberries go perfectly with it.

They attach great importance to reduction, organic and seasonal: the Jung family ☺︎
